Hi folks.

Last month in conference we talked about the magical effects of sadhana. Sadhana means practice, or set of practices, done as ritual.

Like a musician learns an instrument or a painter learns the brush so does a yogi learn the mind. We’re working more specifically with the body as the meditation. By focusing on the ashtanga yoga method as an embodied practice really sweet changes begin to arise. Changes like health, wellness, and the ability to discern clearly even when stressful situations arise.

When you concentrate, the senses become sharp. With ascetic senses aroused, the world becomes a place filled with beauty. We are no longer bound by likes or dislikes but captivated by the wonder of creation.

From this state of wonder samadhi (awareness of the divine) begins to arise.

This month we’ll talk about the vegus nerve, and how it is brought online in the primary series. Without proper digestion of food and emotions ragas may arise. Raga is attachment to things that bring satisfaction. When we are unsatisfied on the inside we begin to look outside of ourselves for a cure, when really the answer was inside all along.

You and I are not broken, but there are always things that need clearing and cleaning.

You guys rock. I’m so happy you’re here.

All the love,
Malissa

P.S We have a blog  HERE. If you’re interested in some embellishment on a topic I brought up while you were concentrating, one we couldn’t fully geek out on, let me know! I love questions.

9:50-10:10 Conference: The Vegus Nerve

Yes folks, theres a rad awakening in that pose that makes you go… “Ughhhh!” or “Yesssssss!”

This week we’ll get clearer on what the asanas are stimulating and how digestion is what primary series is all about.

In twenty minutes. I promise.

“The vagus nerve is the longest nerve of the autonomic nervous system and is one of the most important nerves in the body. Thevagus nerve helps to regulate many critical aspects of human physiology, including the heart rate, blood pressure, sweating, digestion and even speaking.”

Alright, thats all for now. Keep shining bright

Yours always,
Malissa
